Christophe Terrettaz began the project "Mask of the People" in 1997 in order to collect money to protect forest between Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Irian Jaya .
My purpose of this project is to protect the last tribes still "free", from Irian Jaya that are excluded of their own land by Indonesia.

We would like to do all we can to allow the Papuan tribes do happily live in their own ancestral land. We are making this project our fight and know that we won’t prevent these tribes from being killed by the Indonesian army, but at least we are trying our best.

Should we allow genocides to happen? Can really close eyes? Shouldn’t we at once help the one who still live a life in total harmony with nature and whom we have so much to learn from? What would become of them if we don’t?
